Slow Buildings Journal

This ‘Slow Building Diary’ is a record of this architect’s examination of selected traditional building techniques.

This work is undertaken in the belief that the respectful use of local renewable and nonrenewable building materials, to build structures intended to last, using traditional methods and models, offers a chance to build in harmony with the our environment, to ennoble human labor by lending value to pride in craftsmanship, and, in the wider social context, to kindle a more profound respect and appreciation for the built environment and its relation with the natural world.
